Procrastination!! OMG it's got me and got me hard!!

Procrastination!!! OMG how it dose get me sometimes, I know what I want to do but I just find so many other things that I could do instead of the one thing that matters. So I set about researching about procrastination in an effort to get over mine.
From what i have learnt there seams to be a few different ways in which we procrastinate.

Lack of confidence: we feel we will fail anyway so why bother? right!

Discomfort avoidance: you know when you are worried that you will be put outside your comfort zone so you just avoid doing it, giving yourself a feeling of false safety but then you know you wanna be doing it so it is a cycle.

Busy Factor; when you know you are just to busy to do the task really, arent you! i mean there are so many more important things you could be doing like.... i don't know... write a blog! He He, you go me!

Fear of success: what if you did do it and you rocked it! what if you are that cleaver... but wouldn't that be big headed? some people fear success.

for me it is a mix of fear of success and busy factor! I have so much amazing information to share that i know will really help change peoples lives but I come from a hard back ground and was told I was worthless and full of the preverbal so what if I did succeed! wow! but also you see i am a very busy person.. true I know but when i should be doing something and I suddenly start cleaning or thinking,, just after that cup of tea I will do it!!

I am sure procrastination hits the best of us but how do we deal with it?

Here are some other peoples feedback.

Toalha Muzenza make sure you set yourself a goal and when you reached it give yourself a treat. And having trained hard helps

Dave Kibby Perhaps it's not the moment yet... sometimes what appears as procrastination is in fact intuition

Bite sized chunks: the way this works for me is if i brake a job down into bite sized chunks and just try to get a little bit done at a time. As I am writing this i am also schooling myself as i am indeed in procrastination mode!! come check into the blog tomorrow and see if I have moved forward.

Make a plan:I am a very visual lady so i will get out a big sheet of blank paper and as i brake the task into small chunks i write it on a postits and stick it to the paper. this way i can visually see the best path forward to my end goal.

Get support: Ask someone to MAKE sure you stick to your newly devised strategy let them know what you are doing and tell them not to be all softy on you if you come up with a million and one excuses as to why you haven't done it. Get them to state to you what your intentions were and ask how you will reach them if you haven't and if you have celebrate. Get some accountability in there.

I am only human: ok this may rock the boat, my next one is to make sure you plan time off where you can do things that you love that get your creative juices flowing them approach all of the above steps with a fresh creative mind.

So this has been a cathartic blog today so now i will go and be in the now and play catch with my kitten and i will give myself 30 mins then I will follow the steps.... check in tomorrow and see how I went... will i play with the kitten till... bed time or will i get the job that i am procrastinating about done????

much love.x

How to maintain any program of fitness

After yesterday I had a little thought, it is all very well to know that stretching is good for you and even can slow down ageing but how do you stick to it?

I will share with you my easy to implement plan for maintaining any fitness and well-being program.

All you need to do is make a table (like the one below) it has a box for each day and you set yourself a plan.

For instance.
Say this with me 'I will stretch everyday', now that was easy to say but what you will find is because the effects of daily stretching are not instant you can give up thinking it is not worth it. Also if we look at the habits of the mind you realise it needs to feel gratified for its accomplishments, we can not expect it to be OK with taking time out of our already packed day to do an exercises that dose not show instant results and can sometimes be slightly uncomfortable.. especially if you are particularly stiff.

So we need to set yourself a reward program, every time you complete your 'stretches' (or what every it is your target is) you mark it down and also not down how you felt what it was like, was it hard or did you feel fantastic afterwards? Before you start the week you decide what a good 'reward' would be for you. For instance I done this to help me make mediation a daily practise and after a few months of doing it I now feel the benefits and i naturally do meditate everyday as I know how good it is for me, the benefits have become the reward. but when I started I used this table and I would put at the end a reward like some essential oils or a nice candle or a crystal. The reward should be something that will deeply support you, not something like go out get smashed because your body knows whats good for you but your ego is scared of changing your normal patterns. Even if at the end of the week you get yourself a nice pair of flexible stretching trousers so that when you go to stretch you feel the achievement as you put them on in preparation for your exercises.

Well there you have it, do with this what you will, but please leave a comment if your find it helps you achieve a goal that you are trying to achieve. x

Slow ageing process with stretching!

I am feeling so good today that I have made the time to sit and so my blog, I wanted to go into the importance of being flexible and for making time to stretch in your life. Before I do lets just quickly touch on some of the perceived reasons why we just don't have time to stretch. I have heard many times that time in a reason that people just don't have enough of it. Well this is an illusion and I can help you find the time if you want it, you however would need to provide the commitment. Join us on our online training on January 23 rd to find out more in depth about how you can find the time, even an extra 2 hours a day! (Info on training in my FREE online Training blog)<br />
Ok so flexibility; why should we bother even finding the time? Stretching and flexibility is totally underrated and is a major component of maintaining health. Now are you saying to your self..."I know it is but I just can find the time" now listen to the little voice that knows you could. You can stretch as a separate exercises or you before and after other forms of exercise program. This helps keep you supple, prevents injury and stretching daily means that you will obtain the highest range of motion in your joints.

It also gives you an opportunity to focus on your body and relax your mind, when you stretch don't feel like you need to be ubba bendy it is not about that it is about moving a part of your body with the breath with love and care and attention. You will be able to tune into any aches and pains and find out how your body balance is.

Her is a couple of benefits of stretching and flexibility:

Injury prevention
I don't just mean from sports, how many times have you seen someone who pulled a muscle and they were just hovering or doing some daily task?

Why dose it prevent injury?: One of the reasons is that it improves balance and prevents over stretching (hyperextension) of  muscles and tendons, poor balance is a major cause of falls and injuries when you miss step and pull a muscle doing a daily task.

Building strength:
Some types of stretching are great for building strength not just flexibility, like yoga or Pilates they build muscle strength, which in turn supports your joints.

Slowing ageing:
Maintaining an active lifestyle is one way we can slow the physiologic ageing processes. I am afraid to say it but the older we get the more important it is to stretch! We must keep our bodies and minds moving or the degenerate at a faster level.

Mind body connection:
Lastly the art of stretching as I mentioned before gives you a chance to be with your body, to slowly move your body to extension. It is at times like this with our body that it tells us what it needs, if we listen you can really improve your health on a deep level.

Tip: I stretch after a hot bath, I try and do it every morning and manage most mornings. The benefits are worth it and remember if you want to join me online to learn how to find that time then please do. Xx have a blessed and fleet day!

Dealing with the blues

Today it is a little bit of a lower note, I want to share with you that I suffer from mild depression. It comes and goes but I was hit by it yesterday for a while, I was so low that my brain never functioned and I just felt so bad. I couldn't do the easiest of things, it can be lonely running your own business and being a single mother so sometimes it hits me like a brick and I am always so surprised how much energy it takes from me. I have had this for the longest time and I know I am not the only one, you know life can be full of challenges and sometimes that gets on top off you.

Luckily because I have had it for so long I have found tools that help and I want to share them with you today. Also the fact that depression comes in many forms sometimes it can be debilitating and sometimes you should really call for help, but sometimes it is so mild that we tell ourselves not to be silly. So here is a little bag of tools that I will probberly use again and again.

Stay active! This is so true let me delve deeper: I went to pole class last night and only hours before I had been hit with this down turn in my mind. I slept for 30mins and I made myself go! No one in the class knew how I was feeling because I chose not to share but then we got into it and the world changed, my mind was sent out the building because I was hanging upside down, laughing and dancing. Not a chance for my mind to take control because when you exercise you are in the moment and in that moment you are ok.
Exercises also releases endorphins that make you feel better, so I went home and I slept like a baby. I know the fight it can take to get a depressed head out the door, I have to drive myself every time, every time I make my self do it I feel better and this is maybe why I do.

Make sure your bedroom is just for relaxing, no TV nothing that could be a stressor, no bills lying around, washing..... Keep it all out the bedroom. I sage and cleanse my room and meditate in there with candles, read a nice book, just make sure it is the chill zone.. You need and deserve that.

Talk to someone, cry if you need to , just imagine it it like a tap that you are venting stream from. I confided in a friend last night and just to be able to say out loud how I was hit with this depression today made me feel better, I also call the Samaritans 01224574488. Sometimes it is good to vent to someone who doesn't know you and who is trained to deal with it so that you do not pressure your friends and family. There is no shame in this it is a byproduct of modern life.

Get yourself a hobby, visit friends do something to get your head out of the space it is in, or sleep rest. Most of all Love yourself as you are trying your best and that is all you can do, Rome was not build in a day, yeh!

So with love and kindness to myself and you I hope you have a blessed day. Xx

Change in bite sized chunks

I want to share with you a new way of eating that I have been adopting into my life. My friend Poppy who will join me on our up and coming 'online training' has introduced to me a powerful way to start the day. I am all about implementing lasting healthy habits so let's go one step at a time.

Have you heard of your PH Balance?, I mean in your body and how important it is that you maintain a healthy PH Balance.

Paying attention to your bodies PHBalance is one of the best things you can do for your health. It will help support you immune system, bones and symptoms of joint disease, not to mention the functions of your organs and bodily systems.

We eat a lot of foods in these modern times that are nutritionally void and acid forming which leads to poor body function and unnecessary susceptibility to disease.
Without a proper PH Balance we can not process essential nutrients and minerals, in order for our cells to operate at optimum level we need an slightly alkaline environment. Viruses, disease and bacteria tend to thrive in an acidic environment.

So in the morning I eat, 1apple cut up in a bowl with the juice of half an orange, half a lemon, some natural yogurt and some maple syrup. This is a start for me to create the natural PHBalance that is needed to give me optimum health. I want energy, vitality and the ability to be there for my son. So I choose health.

This leads me to ask why do so many people choose to become ill, go to the docs for a pill rather than to work on there health with food. I see people who are basically poisoning the self inside and giving themselves a slow death sentence with the stuff they put into there mouth. Why?

Change in bite sized chunks!
